After Wood Street encampment sweep, homeless people stay

The City of Oakland had planned to move dozens of houseless people from the Wood Street encampment between November 8 and 10, but residents remained in the area after the attempted closure operation.

On July 7, the Berkeley-based non-profit Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) opened a site on Wood Street after two years of planning. Encampment residents are hesitant to move in.
