Zines

We are thrilled to publish the long-form story of the life of 300, a life-long Berkeley resident and community leader who tragically passed away in 2019 after being evicted from his home. We are publishing this story online as well as in a print zine: a beautiful, 78-page booklet, filled with with original illustrations. The story is profound: the kind that just hits harder in print.

We are selling the zines for a donation of $20 or more. There are three ways to get a copy:

1. Instant, non-tax deductible (PayPal)

Donate on PayPal, here. In the notes field, make sure to include your mailing address, as well as a line explaining that you are buying a zine — as well as how many copies you would like to purchase. If you are having trouble donating on Paypal or don’t have a mailing address, shoot us an email and we’ll sort it out: streetspiritnews@gmail.com.

2. Tax deductible, via fiscal sponsor (DonateNow)

If you’d like to make a larger, tax deductible donation, you can donate online through our fiscal sponsor, on WRAP’s DonateNow page. Just make sure to write “Street Spirit/Eviction Machine,” plus the number of copies you want, in the Special Purpose box, pictured below.

3. Buy a copy from a vendor

Our newspaper vendors will be selling copies of “The Eviction Machine” in the East Bay alongside the copies of Street Sheet they have been since we have been out of print! Look out for your local vendor in Berkeley and Oakland.

Shirts

Rep your favorite grassroots newspaper by buying a Street Spirit Tee! If you donate $50 or more, we will mail you a shirt. To buy a shirt, donate on PayPal here. In the notes field, make sure to include your mailing address, as well as the size and color of the shirt you want. We’ve got sizes S-XXL. Shirts come in black or green. If you are having trouble donating on Paypal or don’t have a mailing address, shoot us an email and we’ll sort it out: streetspiritnews@gmail.com

Stickers

We’ve also got stickers, which we’re selling on a donation of $10 or more. A note on size: the rectangular ones are about half the size of a traditional bumper sticker, and would fit perfectly on your laptop, bike, or car. To buy a sticker, donate on PayPal here. In the notes field, make sure to include your mailing address, as well which sticker you want, and how many. If you are having trouble donating on Paypal or don’t have a mailing address, shoot us an email and we’ll sort it out: streetspiritnews@gmail.com
